Image Magic
Intro to the history and uses of Tarot
Saturday Nov. 28, 2009 | 1:00-2:50pm | Liberty Hall Upstairs
Description: This
workshop will cover the history of the tarot and the possible uses of
the tarot as a magical tool. We will discuss the role of pictures in
societies, and the ways image magic can be used to strive towards
personal growth and societal justice. The first half of the workshop
will be conversation/discussion. The latter half will provide space
for shared readings and exercises. No one will be turned away for lack
of funds at this workshop. This is a two hour workshop.
Instructor: Annie Murphy
What to bring: Attendees
should bring their own tarot decks to share with the group, as well as
to compare and contrast images from other decks.

Intro to Candle Magic
Saturday Nov. 28, 2009 | 1:00-2:50pm | Liberty Hall Downstairs
Description: The
first part of the workshop will cover the different candles, their
general uses, and color significance. Followed by information on how to
dress a candle, read the wax, and properly dispose of used candles. During
the second half, I’ll give a couple of examples of candle magic spells,
ending with the anointing of any candles that participants have brought
with them. There is space for 20 people in this workshop.
Instructor: Jes Rega, owner of Fantasma: an altar space on Alberta Street and candle magic practitioner.
What to bring: Anointing of personal candles, I’m suggesting that people make a donation for the supplies I’ll be providing- $1-3. Bring a journal for taking notes, and a candle you would like to anoint (optional).

Witchcraft 101

Description: Witchcraft
is an ancient spiritual practice based on the belief that as humans
we are all powerful and capable of changing ourselves and the world around
us. Magic, one of the basic practices of witchcraft, is the act of
changing consciousness at will. This workshop will cover a brief
history of the craft, the basic principles, ethical considerations,
spell work and end with some practical exercises in beginning magic. This is a three hour workshop. Maximum capacity for this workshop is 15 persons.
Instructor: Allison Carr will lead this workshop. She
is a witch who works strongly with the elements of fire and air. She
has trained for four years with Colette Gardiner and Pomegranate Doyle
and is a graduate and initiate of the Blue Iris Mystery School. An
acupuncturist and massage therapist by trade, she believes strongly in
the power of magic to heal and change the world.
What to bring: Bring a journal, water and a snack, make sure to eat before the workshop. Attendees are encouraged to bring pillows or cushions to sit on.

dungeon master), how to interprete the langauge of d&d, and how to
bring it all together to play one awsome game."

Hand/Palm Reading
Sunday Nov. 29, 2009 | 5:00-6:30 pm | Liberty Hall
Description: In
this workshop, we will be learning how to read the major and minor
lines of our own hands, as well as fingerprints. We will focus on
specific markings, hand shapes, and threading it all together for a
better understanding of ourselves. By reading our own hands, we can
see our progress, our blocks, where stress roots itself, as well as our
health. This is not based on fortune telling, but instead is rooted in
mapping our past, present, and potential. This workshop will be
roughly one and a half hours long.
Instructor: Dyanne Sekeres
What to bring: No
previous knowledge is required. Bring yerself, yer hand, calm mind and
an open heart. Also bring note taking supplies, and a magnifying glass
if possible. There is no limit on the number of participants.
